Canadian Memorial Band

The name of our band is: The Canadian Scottish Memorial Pipes and Drum.
We are dressed, by consent of the Regiment, in the Hunting Stewart tartan and on top the authentic Battle Dress of 1944.  For 11 years, we have represented the Canadian soldiers, those who fought from 1944 until the end of WWII for our freedom, in order that we could live in peace.  The Canadian soldiers liberated the West coast of Belgium and also helped to liberate Brussels and Antwerp. Afterwards, they headed North to the Netherlands.

We are frequently present at several Memorials in Belgium as well as in the Netherlands.  This year, on the 6th of June, it will be 65 years since the landing on Juno-Beach in Normandy in 1944.  A part of our group will be present there for the second time.  We will represent Cornwall in Canada where we will play the Pipes for the Veterans who can no longer make the trip to Normandy.
