Burns Supper 2012 Wednesday 25th January 8:00pm at the Old Oak  A Burns supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns, author of many Scots poems. Burns
suppers are most common in Scotland and Northern Ireland, but occur
wherever there are Burns Clubs, Scottish Societies, expatriate Scots, or
aficionados of Burns' poetry. There is now a particularly strong rising
tradition of them in Belgium. This Year's Supper will be held in the Old Oak Rue Franklin Metro Schuman on Burns day itself, Wednesday 25th January.
The night will be very traditional and consist of a 4 course meal, Bagpipers, singing, dancing, and lots of whiskey!
The night itself, will be charged at €30 per person, which includes the meal, plus half a bottle of house wine per person. Starter Baked Scallops enclosed in a parmesan and herb crust, drizzled with a lemon and parsley oil or Scotch Broth Soup Main Chicken Balmoral served with potato fondant, turnip puree and a whiskey cream sauce. or Vegetarian Haggis served with potato fondant, turnip puree and a light gravy. Dessert Shortbread Crumble entwined in Raspberry and Vanilla mousse in the style of Raspberry Cranachan. Afters Traditional Tablet, Truffles and Spiced Biscuits served with a choice of tea/ coffee.
